Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Construction Inspector to monitor construction, operations, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure conformance with MSFC standards and contract drawings. This full-time role is based on MSFC campus.

You will prepare daily inspection reports, review submittals, manage RFIs, and contribute to final inspections. A US citizenship and federal background check are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen and pass federal background review and drug screen.
• 3+ years of applicable inspection experience on U.S. Government construction projects preferred.
• Experience as a master or journeyman HVAC technician valued.
• Experience as a master or journeyman electrician a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection and surveillance of construction activities to ensure conformance with contract drawings, specs and NASA standards at MSFC.
• Review construction submittals for accuracy and monitor via Procore.
• Review and evaluate the accuracy of contractor requests for progress payments.
• Provide daily inspection reports summarizing progress and schedule status.
• Regularly generate Inspectors Site Inspection Reports and keep them current.
• Maintain orderly files for correspondence, minutes, payments, schedules, punch lists, and changes.
• Monitor RFIs and contract documents to ensure continuity of construction efforts.
• Assist in pre-final and final inspections and prepare punch lists for final payment.
• Review design drawings and specifications for accuracy and constructability; provide review comments.
• Review as-built drawings for accuracy and discrepancies; return for correction.
• Assist in review of O&M Manuals and address incomplete information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
