Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Facilities Operations & Maintenance Inspector to monitor construction, operations, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure conformance with NASA MSFC standards and contract drawings.

The role involves reviewing submittals, tracking payments, and producing daily and site inspection reports. Requirements include a High School Diploma and 5+ years of construction experience; federal project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of applicable experience on construction projects.
• Experience as a master or journeyman HVAC technician is a plus.
• USACE, NASA, or other federal project construction experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office-Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to read and understand construction contract drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection and surveillance of construction, operations, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure work conforms to contract drawings, specifications and NASA standards at MSFC.
• Review construction submittals for accuracy and monitor via Procore.
• Evaluate accuracy of contractor’s requests for progress payments.
• Provide daily inspection reports and track project schedule progress.
• Generate Inspectors Site Inspection Reports and keep them current.
• Maintain orderly files for correspondence, minutes, payments, schedules, punch lists, and related documents.
• Monitor RFIs and contract documents to ensure continuity of construction, maintenance, and repair efforts.
• Participate in pre-final and final inspections, prepare punch-lists, and verify punch list items before final payment.
• Review as-built drawings and address discrepancies.
