Job summary

Penske is seeking an experienced Field Human Resources Manager to lead HR initiatives across IL, MN, WI, and IA, focusing on talent development, onboarding, retention, and leadership skill building. The role travels up to 50% and reports to the Area HR Manager, with regular onsite presence across 16 locations in Illinois and neighboring states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years’ experience in Staffing, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
• Professional certification in SHRM or HRCI is preferred
• Strong knowledge of HR functions and employment law
• Ability to travel 50% overnight travel required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary and complete background checks and screenings

Responsibilities

• Lead local associate experience and retention efforts through onboarding, engagement surveys, recognition events, and local initiatives.
• Support recruiting activity, resolve requisition accuracy issues, and advise on local diverse recruiting sources.
• Collaborate with Area HR Manager on start-up activities for new business and onboarding.
• Oversee talent development processes including performance management, succession planning, and leadership development.
• Provide HR metrics to guide local business decisions (turnover, retention, LOA, exit data).
• Ensure compliance with FLSA, Equal Pay Act, and Penske policies; resolve payroll issues.
