Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a District Human Resources Manager to support field teams and execute human capital strategy across 11 locations in the San Diego area. You will report to the District Manager and collaborate with Area HR.

This on-site role emphasizes engagement, training, and compliance within a dynamic district. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in HR, a bachelor's degree, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role (generalist, specialist, recruiting) or relevant field operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
• Some knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance issues (CA knowledge noted).
• Demonstrated presentation skills with strong oral and written communication.
• Willingness to travel 30–50% within the home district; primary work from a field location.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Retain and improve new associate onboarding; lead onboarding ambassadors.
• Guide talent management and development plans; monitor progress and succession planning.
• Support staffing and workforce planning; collaborate on recruiting strategies.
• Foster positive associate relations and HR policy adherence across locations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, compensation practices, and training obligations.
• Lead acquisitions integration and on-site onboarding; manage miscellaneous tasks.
