Job summary

Geotab is seeking a Field Hardware Engineer to support GO Focus pilots with rapid onsite validation and diagnostic support at customer sites. You will validate, configure, test and troubleshoot Geotab Video hardware, including camera and telematics systems, and help collect training data for AI models.

You will travel frequently (approx. 70%), document field findings, and collaborate with Video development, Field Service and resellers to ensure pilots meet design intent and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Field hardware engineer role supporting pilots with rapid onsite validation and diagnostic work.
• Configure, test and troubleshoot camera and telematics hardware in field environments.
• Collect training data for AI models and document field findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer/pilot sites to validate Geotab Video hardware.
• Perform pre-pilot checks, configuration and validation.
• Diagnose issues across power, hardware, connectivity and firmware.
• Document work and reproduce steps for engineering teams.
• Escalate complex issues with clear technical details and evidence.
• Maintain readiness of field equipment and tools.
• Support data-collection activities on development/test vehicles.
