Job summary

Atlas is hiring a Field Geologist/Environmental Scientist to collect accurate field data, conduct soil boring and groundwater work, and produce defensible reports for remediation projects. You will support Phase II ESAs and adhere to strict safety standards while traveling to local and occasional out-of-town sites.

The role emphasizes precise data collection, regulatory-driven decisions, and capable field operations in diverse environments with a focus on quality, safety, and client outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS degree in geology, biology, hydrology, environmental science, or earth science.
• Ability to travel to local and occasional out-of-town project sites.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• OSHA HazWOPER certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct soil boring and groundwater monitoring well drilling and sampling activities.
• Groundwater monitoring and sample collection.
• Soil gas monitoring point installation and sample collection.
• Underground storage tank removal soil sampling and data collection.
• Technical report production for the Petroleum/Remediation service line.
• Support Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for the Due Diligence Group.
• Adhere to Atlas’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Occasional response to environmental emergencies/spills.
