Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Field Geologist/Environmental Scientist to collect data in the field, support regulatory decisions, and contribute to remediation strategies. You’ll perform sampling, site inspections and field measurements, ensuring data accuracy and safety on diverse sites.

The role emphasizes defensible data, adherence to safety standards, and ability to adapt to changing site conditions. Travel to local and occasional out-of-town project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology or related environmental field.
• Physical ability for fieldwork in varying conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct soil boring and groundwater monitoring drilling and sampling.
• Groundwater monitoring and sample collection.
• Soil gas monitoring point installation and sampling.
• Underground storage tank removal soil sampling and data collection.
• Prepare technical reports for the Petroleum/Remediation services.
• Support Phase II Environmental Site assessments for the Due Diligence group.
• Follow Atlas safety policies; respond to environmental emergencies.
