Job summary

Atlas Atlas is seeking a Field Geologist/Environmental Scientist to support field data collection, soil boring, groundwater sampling and site inspections that drive remediation decisions and project outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in geology or environmental science, can travel to local and occasional out-of-town sites, and communicate clearly. Atlas offers comprehensive safety programs, benefits, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in geology, biology, hydrology, environmental science, or earth science.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel to local and occasional out-of-town project sites.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Preference for OSHA HazWOPER certification (not required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct soil boring and groundwater monitoring well drilling and sampling.
• Groundwater monitoring and sample collection.
• Soil gas monitoring point installation and sample collection.
• Underground storage tank removal soil sampling and data collection.
• Technical report production for the Petroleum / Remediation service line.
• Support Phase II Environmental Site assessments for the Due Diligence Group.
• Adhere to Atlas’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Occasional response to environmental emergencies/spills.
