Job summary

Stratus is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Staff Geologist to perform site assessments, collect and analyze soil, groundwater, and air samples, and prepare technical reports. The role includes coordinating subcontractors and traveling to project sites, with a focus on regulatory compliance and data quality.

The candidate will support Phase I/II ESAs, maintain client communication, and contribute to project planning and cost estimation under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional services consulting experience including execution of UST investigations and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of due diligence, soil/groundwater investigations, remediation, and regulatory permitting.
• Exceptional technical writing skills for documenting findings and regulatory submittals.
• Clear, organized communication for internal teams and external clients.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating field activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental assessments and investigations related to UST, PADEP Act II, and Phase I/II ESAs.
• Monitor subsurface exploration activities to gather soil, groundwater, and related data.
• Perform soil, air, and groundwater sampling per ASTM standards and company procedures.
• Compile, analyze, and report field, geological, and environmental data.
• Prepare written reports, proposals, cost estimates, and ESAs; contribute to deliverables.
• Coordinate, manage, and oversee subcontractors during field activities.
• Travel to local project sites and assist project management with scheduling and budgeting.
