Job summary

Adams, Inc. seeks a Generator Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on residential and light commercial standby generators. This is a field role covering Northeast Wisconsin, with a company vehicle and ongoing training opportunities.

You will serviceGenerac, Kohler, and Briggs & Stratton systems, travel to customer sites, and complete documentation on an iPad. Strong mechanical aptitude and independent problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two or more years with engines, motors, or mechanical equipment preferred.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and solve technical problems independently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to manage a daily service schedule and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and service on standby generator systems.
• Complete oil changes, filter replacements, battery inspections, and testing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel, ignition, and engine issues.
• Repair and replace defective components as needed.
• Use manufacturer diagnostic tools and service info to identify problems.
• Complete electronic service documentation and customer notes on an iPad.
• Manage multiple service appointments daily, often 5+ calls.
• Communicate findings and recommendations professionally to customers.
• Maintain inventory and organization of company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Respond to emergency service requests as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and manufacturer certification programs.
• Represent Adams, Inc. professionally at customer locations.
