Job summary

Adams, Inc. is seeking a Generator Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on standby generator systems for residential and light commercial use. You will focus on service work, not installations, supporting Generac, Kohler, and Briggs & Stratton brands.

You’ll travel to customer locations across Northeast Wisconsin, typically covering a large territory with a company-provided vehicle. Training and manufacturer certification opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years experience with combustion engines, motors or mechanical equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently.
• Comfort with using iPad and mobile apps for service docs.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and service on standby generator systems.
• Complete oil changes, filter replacements, battery inspections, and testing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel, ignition and engine issues.
• Repair and replace defective components.
• Use manufacturer tools and service information to diagnose problems.
• Document service work and notes using an iPad.
• Manage multiple daily service calls, 5+ on average.
• Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment inventory.
