Job summary

The Taylor Group Inc seeks a Field Service Technician to service generator sets on customer sites in the Miami area. You will diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines, perform preventive maintenance, and support load bank testing and transfer switches.

Qualifications include high school diploma or GED, DOT certification, and a valid driver’s license. You will travel to client locations, be on-call, and work as part of a field team with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• DOT certification required; must be 21+ for DOT.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines, servicing and repairing.
• Electrical experience including wiring diagrams and AC/DC components.
• Power generation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan work and travel schedule with Service Manager, prioritizing customer needs.
• Provide tools and parts and arrange facilities to perform repair work, usually at customer premises.
• Report key job data for billing and records (customer, machine, malfunction, time).
• Perform preventative maintenance on generator sets, including fluids, belts, and exhaust systems.
• Conduct load bank testing and testing of transfer switches.
• Attend company-sponsored training to advance technical skills.
• Maintain neat appearance and keep service truck in good condition.
• Complete work orders and related paperwork promptly.
• All other duties as assigned.
