Job summary

Fairchild Equipment seeks a skilled mechanic to repair and maintain material handling equipment. You will diagnose issues, communicate with customers, and provide repair estimates. You must own basic tools and be able to work with the Service Manager to complete tasks efficiently.

This hourly role requires 3+ years of experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to operate in various job sites. Training and growth opportunities are offered as part of a dynamic family-owned team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years mechanic experience in material handling equipment or related field.
• Able to read safety manuals and maintenance instructions.
• Good communication with customers and team members.
• Must provide own basic tools for the job.

Responsibilities

• Repair, diagnose, inspect and maintain material handling equipment.
• Accept repair orders and communicate estimates to customers.
• Read work orders and observe equipment to diagnose issues.
• Provide solutions to meet customer specifications and approvals.
• Submit work orders promptly and document repair details.
• Obtain and coordinate parts with the Parts department.
• Perform safety inspections and ensure equipment conformance.
• Promote parts, service, and rental sales to drive business.
• Maintain professional image and clean work area at sites.
