Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking an Outdoor Utility Forester/Work Planner to join our vegetation management team. This role involves field patrols, site assessments, and coordination with landowners to implement safe, effective vegetation control around energy corridors.

The position emphasizes safety, GIS proficiency, and strong communication skills for engaging with clients and regulatory bodies. A degree in forestry or related field is preferred, with related experience considered.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, or tree-related field preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification and field safety.
• Proficiency with GIS and Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits with accurate documentation.
• Safely patrol energy corridors on foot, identify vegetation to prune, remove, or protect.
• Classify work based on field conditions and apply ANSI line clearance standards.
• Conduct Tree Risk Assessments and analyze growth rates.
• Engage with property owners and agencies to obtain permissions.
• Coordinate non-routine work with stakeholders and contractors.
• Participate in storm and emergency response as needed.
