Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester/Work Planner to join our outdoor team. You will patrol energy corridors, assess vegetation, and coordinate with landowners while prioritizing safety and compliance with industry standards.

The role offers field autonomy, ongoing training, and opportunities to obtain industry certifications. Candidates should have forestry experience, GIS knowledge, and a valid driver’s license; bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred
• Knowledge or practical experience in tree identification
• Proficiency with GIS software/technology and Microsoft Suite
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Experience in electric utility vegetation management in the field
• Knowledge of client contracts and safety protocols

Responsibilities

• Organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain accurate documentation
• Review work sites for endangered species, sensitive habitats, and incompatible vegetation
• Safely patrol energy corridors on foot; identify vegetation for pruning, removal, or protection
• Classify prescribed work; use herbicides and assess tree risk
• Communicate work plans to property owners and agencies; obtain permissions
• Audit contractor work for compliance with Client specifications
• Investigate tree-related outages and document findings
• Participate in storm and emergency response as needed
