Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Utility Forester/Work Planner to join our outdoor team. You will organize records, assess vegetation, and coordinate field activities across energy corridors, ensuring safety and adherence to client standards.

The role demands independent work, strong communication with landowners, and the ability to operate in varying weather and terrain. A degree in forestry or related field is preferred, with GIS and Microsoft Office experience beneficial.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Knowledge of common computer applications and ability to learn new programs.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.
• Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain documentation.
• Field Patrol Duties: patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning, removal or protection.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: communicate work plans and obtain permissions from landowners/agencies.
• Coordination & Safety: follow safety protocols, report hazards, operate vehicles safely.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm and emergency response as needed.
