Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Dayton, OH, seeks a Foreperson to drive daily field operations, coordinate crew workloads, and enforce safety protocols across job sites.

You will lead training, resolve on-site issues, maintain records, and collaborate with management on hiring needs, equipment, and customer relations, with CDL and valid driving responsibilities.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organization, ability to travel for storm work, and compliance with DOT standards.

Qualifications

• Requires understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.
• Able to adjust to field requirements and work independently.
• Capable of safely driving an approved company vehicle.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Weight of employee should not exceed about 300 pounds.
• No fear of heights and able to travel for storm work.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after orders are received.
• Conducts field training and retraining for crew on new job units.
• Enforces safe work practices and conducts safety training per policy.
• Discusses access, power interruption, and work scope with property owners.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform work.
• Promotes good customer relations through completed work and conduct.
• May investigate minor damage and settle small claims.
• Keeps records, timesheets, and crew operation reports.
• Controls crew costs and uses resources efficiently.
• Provides reports on orders, units, crew time, and repairs.
• Furnishes incident reports and other updates to supervisors.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when needed.
• Sets up barriers and safety measures to protect workers and public.
• Inspects and arranges repairs for tools, trucks, and equipment.
• Maintains housekeeping on trucks and work locations.
• Responsible for DOT maintenance and inspection requirements.
• Keeps informed on equipment, procedures, and policies.
