Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking an Inspector in Massachusetts to inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes. You will work with customers and internal teams to ensure compliance and timely service.

The role requires 3–5 years of inspection experience, a HS diploma (NICET preferred), a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel locally. Opportunities to train others and contribute to safety programs are available.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems.
• HS Diploma or equivalent; NICET or state certification preferred.
• Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.
• Strong math, mechanical, problem-solving and customer-service skills.
• English reading/writing proficiency.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Able to travel locally; on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems per NFPA.
• Record and report deficiencies to SFS and customers.
• Communicate professionally with customers and offsite monitoring.
• Operate tools for inspections (detectors, backflow kit, pumps).
• Plan and complete inspections as scheduled.
• On-call status as required by location.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools.
• Follow Safety program, SDS, and policies; attend toolbox talks.
• Train inspector trainees in applicable areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
