Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our nationwide client base. This role involves certifying fiber links with OTDR, troubleshooting impairments, and performing fusion splicing along with other field tasks.

Ideal candidates have fiber/IT/telecom experience, appropriate certifications, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel within a coverage area. This is a 1099 contractor position with on-site work and travel pay.

Qualifications

• 1 year fiber/IT/telecom experience
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Reliable personal fiber/test equipment and tools
• Willingness to travel within coverage territory

Responsibilities

• Fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical techniques
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber cabling
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables
• Work independently across diverse environments
