Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our nationwide client base. The role involves testing fiber links with OTDR, troubleshooting network impairments, and performing fusion and mechanical splicing when qualified.

Field-based work across diverse environments, with focus on quality workmanship, documentation, and client communication. 1099 contractor position with travel within a broad coverage area.

Qualifications

• Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber systems.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic testing and technical tasks including splicing, OTDR testing, power meter testing, and certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation; jumper replacement.
• Installation, termination, and testing of fiber cabling; document results and records.
