Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Field Engineering Technician to perform field inspections of utility poles across New England. This hourly, full-time role involves data collection, measurements, photos, and coordinating with pole owners to determine attachment heights.

Training is provided before independent work, with occasional overnight travel. The position emphasizes field work (~95%), safety protocols, and collaboration with Leidos engineers to design fixes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma
• AS/BS in Engineering (preferred)
• Experience in field work is a plus
• Must be local to the area
• Knowledge of NESC standards helpful
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to perform field and office work
• Valid drivers license required

Responsibilities

• Travel around New England (CT, MA, NY, NH) to collect data, field measurements, and photos of utility poles.
• Meet with pole owners to determine attachment heights for new 3rd party attachers.
• Document maintenance concerns and collect data for Leidos designers.
• Expected to meet weekly goals and communicate progress to supervision.
• Overnight travel可能, 16–24 hours training before working solo.
