Job summary

Leidos is seeking Field Engineering Technicians to perform field inspections of utility poles across New England. This hourly, full-time role requires travel around CT, MA, NY, NH to collect data, measurements and photos, and to meet with pole owners on attachment heights for new third-party attachers.

The position emphasizes field work (outdoors year-round) with occasional overnight stays, per diem for meals, and potential training in design.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Preferred candidate has power distribution experience and/or engineering degree.
  • Experience in field work and distribution component identification is ideal.
  • Must be able to work in team and independently and meet deadlines.
  • Local to the area and able to travel within New England.

Responsibilities

  • Travel around New England to collect data, measurements and photos of utility poles.
  • Meet with joint pole owners to determine attachment heights for new 3rd party attachers.
  • Document maintenance concerns and collect data for design teams.
  • Occasional overnight travel; meet weekly goals and report progress.
