About the Role

We are searching for a Field Engineering Technologist to join our fast‑paced organization. You will work closely with electric utility disciplines, perform field inspections, engineering design work and calculations, coordinate with permit agencies, right‑of‑way specialists, system owners, field leaders, forestry leaders, and third‑party owners for joint‑owned poles, provide engineering support during construction, conduct root‑cause analysis of outages, and support post‑construction reviews to ensure all applicable standards are met.

This contract position is approximately six months with the possibility of converting to a direct employee afterward. The role is based in Harrisburg or State College, PA, and will require travel to customer sites as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review work provided by the client and assess requirements of scopes.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including post‑construction reviews to ensure that all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis of outages and propose mitigation using engineering principles and design.
  • Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections, and return to the office to perform engineering design work.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, with 6+ months of prior relevant experience (Level 1).
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 1+ year of relevant experience (Level 2). An associate’s degree or higher in engineering technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Physical ability to walk at least one mile, swing a 3‑lb hammer, and perform field work daily.
  • Willingness to perform both field and office work.
  • Ability to work in both team and independent environments and organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Compensation range: $35,100.00 – $63,450.00. Pay is a general guideline and is influenced by responsibilities, experience, education, and internal equity. Additional benefits include competitive compensation, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement options.
