Field Engineering Manager — On-Site Leader for Major Projects

Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Field Engineering Manager to lead on-site field engineering activities for our Houston-area project. You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, resolve on-site engineering issues, and act as the primary liaison with home office Engineering to ensure design conformance and project success.

The role requires a strong track record in on-site construction engineering, excellent communication, and the ability to guide contractors and CMTs through complex field challenges.

Qualifications

• University degree/technical diploma in an engineering discipline.
• Demonstrable track record in engineering management on major projects with on-site construction experience.
• Knowledge of design criteria, engineering processes and construction materials.
• Proficient with engineering/technical software and systems.
• Understanding of procurement, contracting and administrative practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage on-site field engineering activities across construction, commissioning and handover.
• Lead field engineering team, assign technical personnel and supervise activities.
• Provide technical support to site management, construction supervisors and contractors.
• Manage field change processes, RFIs, and ensure conformance to Hatch PLP procedures.
• Plan, budget and implement training/development for project resources.
• Coordinate local permitting and inspection requirements as needed.
• Develop and implement the Field Engineering section of Construction Execution Plan.
• Monitor constructability and assist with on-site engineering reviews and testing.
• Review contractor CWP submittals, ITPs and method statements.
• Ensure timely resolution of cross-discipline clashes and engineering deliverables.
