Job summary

Bechtel Corporation seeks a Piping Mechanical Field Engineer for the Thacker Pass project in Nevada. You will provide technical direction to direct hire and subcontractor crews, overseeing mechanical activities in the assigned area and coordinating with engineering to ensure constructability and safety.

Role requires a bachelor’s degree with extensive field experience on mega projects, solid documentation skills, and the ability to manage schedules, quantities, and procurement interfaces across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–8 years of relevant experience or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with Bechtel work processes and Standard Work Process Procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project documentation practices.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; prior U.S. mega‑project direct‑hire construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support mechanical installation activities across all areas of construction.
• Coordinate work schedules and material deliveries with field supervision; complete all training requirements.
• Prepare mechanical installation work packages; inspect field installations and complete documentation; manage take‑offs and forecasting.
• Prepare field change notices and as‑built documentation; interface with engineering to resolve issues.
• Prepare material requisitions and review vendor drawings; work with Procurement and expediting teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure proper storage of equipment and adherence to environmental protection requirements.
• Perform material receipt inspections; review specs, reports, delivery schedules, and manuals; assist in estimates.
