Job summary

VINCI Construction Grands Projets USA is seeking a Field Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical and Commissioning) to support the Area Manager, Project Engineer and Superintendents in the field and office on a major civil project in Virginia.

You will collect drawings and specs, plan field layouts, assist estimating and design, coordinate subcontractors, monitor schedule and budget, and document daily activities to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 1+ years of construction engineering experience on heavy civil construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the project.
• Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Collects, coordinates, and analyzes drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
• Plan field layout on the project site, ensuring utility and commercial lines are marked before production begins.
• Assist the estimating team with project schedules and provide technical input as needed.
• Assist the development of design drawings and provide technical input as needed.
• Coordinates subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed.
• Meets daily with project crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production to continue schedule and within budget.
• Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling; identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process.
• Documents daily activities in Company approved methods and technologies.
• Reviews project specifications for quality assurance at regular intervals; initiates and manages certificates, inspections, and other documentation.
