IES is seeking a Field Engineer I to install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.

You will troubleshoot, test, and diagnose fielded components, interpret drawings and manuals, and prepare shop drawings and submittals for new projects.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred), 2–4 years in commercial cabling, and the ability to travel within the branch or regional territory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Must be able to travel within branch/regional territory as needed.
• Ability to define project scope, develop tasks, and manage to completion.

Responsabilités

• Install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in the field.
• Interpret advanced drawings, specifications and manuals.
• Create shop drawings and submittals for new project kickoff.
• Lead technical work in the field with minimal supervision.
• Support field staff and project manager on installations.
• Complete project punch-lists and ensure quality.
• Assist sales with product and system demonstrations.
