Job summary

IES is seeking a Field Engineer I - Structured Cabling to install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment. This role entails troubleshooting, interpreting drawings, and field verification of connections and quality, with coordination between field staff and project managers.

The ideal candidate will read advanced project documents, manage tasks with limited supervision, and be able to travel within the branch and regional territory as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in the field.
• Understand and create shop drawings and submittals for projects.
• Oversee technical aspects of projects and ensure quality checks.
• Support field staff and project manager; assist with punch lists.
• Provide demonstrations to sales staff and assist in proposals.
• Coordinate site walks, pre-construction reviews, and bids.
