Job summary

IES is seeking a Field Engineer I - Structured Cabling to serve as a technical resource, ensuring installations meet design, testing, and customer expectations. You will manage documentation, QA, and turnover from kickoff to closeout, acting as liaison across field operations, engineering, QA, and customers.

Responsibilities include leading submittals, redlines, RFIs, and closeout documentation, plus updating BIM360 records and coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of commercial structured cabling experience.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and project docs.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territories.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and documentation efforts across the project lifecycle.
• Verify copper, fiber, network, and infrastructure installs against design specs.
• Maintain and update redline drawings and manage RFIs and testing audits.
• Coordinate labeling, warranties, closeout documentation, and turnover packages.
• Review shop drawings and support BIM360 documentation updates.
