Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) seeks a Field Engineer to support engineers and technicians in the field and lab. You will conduct geotechnical field testing, perform soil laboratory testing, and assist with report preparation and client communications to ensure accurate data collection and reliable project outcomes.

The role requires adaptability, technical acumen, and teamwork in a 100% employee-owned firm dedicated to delivering high-quality testing and consulting services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or related Engineering field is required.
• 0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to achieve professional registration (PE) preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field testing according to QA procedures.
• Perform soil laboratory tests according to QA procedures.
• Log/classify soil samples in laboratory or fieldwork as needed.
• Prepare reports of field and laboratory work.
• Communicate with clients to determine their project needs.
• Assist in maintaining and improving the materials testing laboratory.
