Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Controls Engineer for Data Center Field Engineering in Herndon, VA. You will support critical infrastructure across AWS data centers, driving reliability and efficiency improvements while collaborating with cross‑functional teams in design, operations, and safety.

Responsibilities include leading post-event analyses, developing controls logic templates, and owning lifecycle management for pilot projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ cumulative years of controls experience in industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering including data centers
• Experience reading and editing design drawings and control diagrams
• Experience with Python, SQL, and data analysis for time-series data
• Bachelor’s degree in Controls/Electrical/Mechanical/Automation or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead post-event engineering analysis for controls incidents and identify recurring failure patterns
• Develop and maintain controls logic and templates for equipment, ensuring alignment with sequences of operations
• Own the full engineering lifecycle for legacy controls pilots from intake to go/no-go rollout
• Provide technical escalation support and review drawings, wiring diagrams, and topologies to identify risks
• Build engineering baselines, including test scripts, alarms, and code libraries
