Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking an East Region Field Engineer to support Workplace Security Engineering. The role requires managing site projects and end-user support for physical security functions across access control and video systems.

You will coordinate with security operations and NBCU IT teams, perform incident response, and drive system upgrades while on a 24x7 on-call rotation. Strong communication, logging, and vendor management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years work experience in physical security systems and field support.
• Ability to travel as needed, including overnight stays.
• Willing to work daily onsite in NYC.
• Willing to work weeknights and weekends on-call.
• Experience with Physical Access Control and CCTV systems (Lenel, Genetec).
• Experience interpreting system logs from peripheral devices (CCTV, readers).
• Active certifications in Lenel OnGuard or Genetec Security Center.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Negotiation and problem resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• The East Region Field Engineer represents Workplace Security Engineering for site projects.
• Provide end-user support for Physical Security applications and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage day-to-day site issues: Lenel On Guard and Genetec Security Center.
• Deliver end-user training on HID SAFE, Lenel, Genetec.
• Coordinate with NBCUniversal security operations and IT teams.
• Document as-is / to-be processes for day-to-day support.
• Incident Response: remote and on-premise support for hardware and software.
• Support multiple NBCUniversal projects across access control and video infra.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation; assist with upgrades and change mgmt.
• Develop scope of work with vendors for site expansion; track budgets.
• Create project status reports and meeting minutes; manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency in MS Office: Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Teams.
• Back-up functions for team members when needed.

Day-to-Day

• The East Region Field Engineer will be an Engineering representative for the Workplace Security Engineering team managing site projects and systems support of physical security functions.
• Provide end-user support of applications and assist with trouble-shooting issues for applications used by Physical Security operations
• Manage day to day site issues: Access Control Systems: Enterprise Lenel On Guard; Video: Genetec Security Center;
• End-user system training: HID SAFE, Lenel, Genetec
• Liaison between business security operations and NBCU Engineering teams
• Document as-is / to be process necessary for day to day support
• Incident Response - provide remote & on premises support for hardware and software issues as needed
• Manage and support multiple NBCUniversal projects supporting access control and video infrastructure and software solutions
• 24 X 7 systems support on an on-call rotation basis
• Change Management – implement and changes impacting production systems
• Participate in system upgrades
• Policy Alignment/Execution - able to assess impact for Global initiatives impact to local site businesses
• Align vendor activities based on business priorities
• Coordinate application installs with local desktop client services
• Manage demand via AutoNow ticketing system
• Develop and partner with security operations and third-party vendors to generate Scope of Work documents for site expansion
• Document business processes and requirements in the sourcing of new technology solutions
• Provide ongoing engagement and communications to business and IT management
• Develop and deliver presentations to executive, business stakeholders and IT Management
• Ensure the quality of services and solutions to application user base, other application owners
