Lead Security Systems Solutions Engineer
We are looking for a Lead Security Systems Solutions Engineer to own the physical security technology of a leading media and entertainment company. You will set the architecture and technical direction for access control, video management, and visitor management across many sites, and run the solutions engineering team's work from intake to delivery. Expect to choose new technology, build proofs of concept, connect security platforms to enterprise systems, and turn security data into business intelligence. This is technical leadership without direct reports, and the security ecosystem you shape has to scale with the business.
Schedule: Remote, U.S.-only. One-year engagement starting in early November, 40 hours a week, with about 15% regional travel. Pay: $61 per hour, W2 with benefits.
What you will do
- Own the design and integrations of a multi-site security technology ecosystem so it scales securely with the business.
- Evaluate and select technologies, build proofs of concept, and lead adoption of emerging tools such as cloud camera analytics and AI-driven security tools.
- Set and enforce technical standards, architectural patterns, and security and data protection requirements.
- Advise on support escalations, and be the subject matter expert for access control, video security, and analytics.
- Serve as the front door for all solutions engineering work, triaging and prioritizing every request.
- Lead discovery and scoping, aligning business goals with technical realities.
- Assign projects to solutions engineers and see each one through on time, within scope, and aligned to strategy.
- Run the team's program portfolio: roadmap, priorities, dependencies, and status reporting to leadership.
- Balance workload across the team and mentor engineers through delivery.
- Flag technical, operational, and security risks before they become roadblocks.
- Architect and maintain integrations between access control, video management, and visitor management platforms and enterprise systems, legacy systems included.
- Design ETL workflows that turn security data into business intelligence.
- Find repetitive manual work and automate it.
- Lead upgrades, enhancements, and migrations, and keep systems running through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Keep technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and training materials current.
- Partner with security operations, IT, engineering, product, and business teams, and explain complex systems clearly to non-technical audiences.
What we are looking for
- 8+ years programming and administering enterprise, multi-site physical security systems.
- 3+ years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Hands-on experience deploying, integrating, and supporting enterprise access control, video management (VMS), and visitor management platforms.
- Project and program management experience: intake, scoping, resource allocation, and several concurrent projects delivered with minimal supervision.
- A record of building proofs of concept, making technology selection decisions, and mentoring engineers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement, including with non-technical audiences.
- The judgment to make decisions on your own and own the outcome.
- Able to travel about 15% of the time to regional sites.
- Must be located in the United States and perform work from within the United States.
- Must be eligible to work directly for BlueInGreen in a W2 hourly with benefits role.
- Direct applicants only; no recruiting agencies, third-party vendors, employer-of-record arrangements, or corp-to-corp submissions.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete Form I-9 employment eligibility verification if hired.
- Must be willing to complete a background check, subject to applicable law and required candidate authorization.
- Must understand that this is an hourly W2 role with benefits eligibility and that assignment length or extension is not guaranteed.
Helpful, but not required
- Hands-on Genetec Security Center: Synergis access control or Omnicast video.
- Genetec certification: SC-STC-001 (Synergis) or SC-ETC-001.
- Cloud camera analytics or AI-driven security tools.
- ETL and business intelligence work with security data.
- Studio production, entertainment, or technology industry experience.
