Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company seeks an Electrical Lead Project Engineer to oversee all electrical activities at the job site, providing technical direction to field engineers, subcontractors, and construction teams. You will coordinate with design and project management to meet schedules, quality, and safety standards.

Responsibilities include leading field teams, reviewing drawings, testing and commissioning equipment, and ensuring compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and OSHA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 5–10+ years of electrical field engineering, construction, commissioning, or related roles.
• Leadership of field engineering teams on large industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems, protection schemes, and industrial controls.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical expertise for electrical systems including power distribution, grounding, lighting, and control systems.
• Interpret drawings and specs to support installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot issues in real time to minimize schedule disruptions.
• Lead field engineering teams and mentor staff.
• Coordinate electrical activities with construction and other disciplines for seamless execution.
• Review design docs for constructability and improvements.
• Support procurement by reviewing vendor docs and data sheets.
• Maintain project schedules and plan work with progress tracking.
• Inspect sites for compliance with standards and codes (NEC, IEEE, NFPA).
• Oversee testing/commissioning of switchgear, transformers, motors, protection, and control panels.
• Prepare test procedures, work packages, and turnover documents.
• Enforce safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
