Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a skilled technician to support electrical and control systems at the Mitchell Plant, with up to 30% travel. You will assist in locating defects, perform preventive maintenance and compile data for reports, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in electronics or equivalent experience, strong reading of prints, and the ability to work with various equipment types in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret prints, sketches and specifications.
• Ability to perform work with electrical, electronic and control components.
• Must meet physical requirements and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Locate and repair defects in control systems using diagrams and prints.
• Check and adjust breakers and plant electrical control systems.
• Maintain equipment including batteries, motors, HVAC and other systems.
• Record data, perform tests and prepare reports and graphs.
• Assist in engineering layouts and data for procedures and BOMs.
