Job summary

Plains is seeking an Intermediate E&I Technician to provide electrical and instrumentation support across assets, including installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair. Work in field environments such as tank farms, pump stations, and control centers, often with supervision from skilled trades.

The role emphasizes safety, shutdowns, and compliance, with callouts for emergencies and duties spanning asset protection, meter verification, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably 2nd or 3rd year of related trades apprenticeship program.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience at the prior level.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, maps, schematics, and perform load studies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Perform instrumentation and preventive maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct required maintenance on control devices, valves, and switches.
  • Maintain safety and process monitoring systems and resolve abnormal conditions.
  • Assist in emergency response and incident investigations.
  • Interact with contractors and coordinate field activities.
