Job summary

Plains is seeking an E&I Technician to provide electrical and instrumentation support at field assets, including tank farms, pump stations, and control centers. You will install, calibrate, maintain, and repair complex electrical equipment, troubleshoot control systems, and ensure accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a ticketed Electrical Journeyman.
• 5–10 years of prior gas plant, refinery, pipeline, or oilfield experience.
• Ability to read English and perform basic math.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics, and perform load studies.

Responsibilities

• Performs Junior/Intermediate E&I Technician tasks without supervision.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, installs, and commissions electrical equipment safely.
• Maintains control systems (DCS, HMI, PLCs) and resolves faults.
• Maintains electrical distribution systems and high voltage panels.
• Performs root cause analysis and writes improvement reports.
• Provides on-call support for emergencies and maintenance break-ins.
• Communicates problems and recommendations to supervisors.
