Job summary

Plains is seeking an Intermediate E&I Technician to provide electrical and instrumentation support across field assets, including tank farms, pump stations, and control centers. The role involves installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of equipment, with emphasis on safety in open environments and high-voltage areas.

Responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance, calibration checks, and coordinating with contractors while ensuring regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably 2nd/3rd year of related trades apprenticeship.
• Minimum two years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, maps, and schematics.
• Must know electrical code requirements for pipeline/facility operations.
• Experience with high voltage systems and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform instrumentation and preventive maintenance on centrifugal/positive displacement compressors per vendor guidelines.
• Maintain calibration equipment and resolve abnormal conditions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on control devices (flow, temp, pressure, level).
• Resolve control loop abnormalities and service valves and regulators.
• Maintain safety and process monitoring systems and documentation.
• Inspect and maintain switchgear, transformers, generators, and batteries.
• Assist with PM program and emergency response when needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and report abnormal conditions.
