Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive EHS experience, including leadership in manufacturing and multi-site environments.
• Experience leading EHS through active field engagement, not just administrative oversight.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, HACCP, and related standards preferred.
• Strong incident investigation, audit, coaching, and corrective action management experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong on-site presence, spending majority of time in facilities to support operations, audits, investigations, and coaching.
• Lead by example, promoting accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and improve corporate EHS programs, standards, and performance across sites.
• Partner with plant managers and teams to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Conduct routine EHS inspections, safety observations, and compliance audits; close out action items.
• Lead or participate in investigations of injuries, near misses, environmental events, and regulatory matters.
• Use data and root cause analysis to identify systemic risks and prioritize improvements.
• Support machine guarding, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, contractor safety, and environmental compliance programs.
• Provide hands-on training to leadership and staff on safety leadership and incident prevention.
• Support workers’ compensation programs and return-to-work processes in collaboration with HR.
