Job summary

Newly Weds Foods is seeking an EHS Director to drive company-wide environmental, health, and safety performance with a heavy field presence in our manufacturing facilities. The role partners with plant leadership, conducts audits, investigates incidents, coaches teams, and implements practical solutions to reduce risk and strengthen safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive EHS experience, including manufacturing and multi-site environments.
• Experience leading EHS through active field engagement, not just administrative oversight.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, HACCP, BRC, and other standards preferred.
• Strong incident investigation, audit, coaching, and corrective action management experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication, facilitation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a strong on-site presence and spends the majority of work time in manufacturing facilities.
• Leads by example, promotes accountability, and drives continuous improvement.
• Develops and improves corporate EHS programs, policies, and performance across sites.
• Partners with plant managers and frontline staff to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Conducts routine facility walks, EHS inspections, safety observations, and audits; closes action items.
• Leads investigations of serious injuries, near misses, and regulatory matters.
• Uses data and root-cause analysis to identify risks and prioritize actions.
• Drives machine guarding, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, and environmental compliance programs.
• Coaches facility leadership on safety leadership and incident prevention.
• Supports workers’ compensation programs and return-to-work processes with HR.
