Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines is seeking a Field Director, GI – West to lead a GI MSL regional team across the Western U.S. region.

You will translate TA and Medical Affairs strategy into regional priorities and drive execution with a focus on scientific engagement and performance metrics. You will coach MSLs, manage field programs including product launches, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver impactful medical science outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; PharmD, PhD or MD highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years experience required in pharmaceutical industry; at least 4 years in pharma and 2 years in MSL or equivalent.
• GI/Immunology experience strongly preferred.
• Must live in assigned region with travel ~60% and proximity to an airport; valid US driver’s license.
• Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, including AI; build team AI literacy.

Responsibilities

• Lead a regional GI MSL team; ensure alignment with business plan and company directives.
• Drive team performance via field visits, coaching, feedback, and development plans.
• Oversee training and development; ensure scientific exchange skills and field medical ethics.
• Monitor territory plans; use data dashboards to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs and cross-functional partners.
