Job summary

Countera is seeking a hands-on deployer to implement our platform at client sites across the Bay Area. You will configure POS, payments, inventory, and back office flows, and ensure seamless operation for end users from day one.

You’ll migrate catalogs and price data, onboard cashiers and managers, and troubleshoot live issues with the engineering team. Occasional travel and on-site work are required to support go-lives.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, technical support, or IT deployment (internships and strong projects count)
• Degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent hands‑on skills
• Comfort with at least one scripting/programming language and basic SQL
• Familiarity with APIs, networking basics, and debugging across hardware and software
• Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts to non‑technical retail staff
• Willingness to travel to client sites across the Bay Area, including occasional early mornings/evenings/weekends
• Willingness to work on-site in the US and hold a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure the Countera platform at client sites across the Bay Area
• Set up and troubleshoot lane hardware: registers, scanners, scales, receipt printers, payment terminals, and customer-facing displays
• Migrate client data—catalogs, price books, inventory—into Countera and validate end-to-end
• Train cashiers, store managers, and back-office staff for fast, confident go-live
• Debug issues on-site, triage what you can’t fix, and coordinate with core engineering
• Run UAT scripts and go-live checklists with clients; own deployment through stabilization
• Be the voice of the customer: turn friction into product feedback, bug reports, and feature specs
