Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed data on electric and telecom facilities in outdoor settings. The role involves hiking between spans, data capture for outside plant engineering, and supporting fiber optic construction projects.

This full-time position requires routine overnight travel (1–2 weeks at a time), with home most weekends. Osmose will train the right candidate and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Able to read GPS maps and follow field procedures in a high‑quality, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work outdoors to collect field data supporting engineering and design of fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized data for each project, including maps, notes and images.
• Operate and maintain field equipment (tablet, camera, measuring tools, PPE).
• Represent Osmose professionally in the field and with customers.
• Communicate daily with the project management team.
• Work safely with minimal supervision.
