Job summary

AWS is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to support Data Center Planning and Delivery across Maryland and Virginia. This field-based role requires coordinating with Real Estate, Due Diligence, Permitting, Energy, Construction, Security and Procurement teams to meet H&S goals and improve safety culture.

You will interact with General Contractors and AWS suppliers to ensure compliance with safety programs, and travel to domestic locations may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of compliance program management, governance, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail/manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
• Knowledge of retail food code and regulations at local, state, federal levels.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Experience interacting with local food safety regulators.

Responsibilities

• Review due diligence risk assessments with real estate, preconstruction, and operations on H&S aspects.
• Coordinate with DCPD managers to prioritize H&S in planning and execution.
• Ensure General Contractors and AWS vendors comply with onboarding via Avetta.
• Conduct site H&S kickoff sessions and reviews of contractor safety plans.
• Document data in standard reporting tools for regional leadership.
• Manage 3rd party/internal H&S resources on projects.
• Identify opportunities and partner with regional teams to improve H&S.
• Audit projects against processes and analyze data for trends and risks.
