Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for the DCPD Health and Safety program in the greater Washington, DC area. This field‑based role requires on‑site presence at construction and retrofit projects, coordinating with Real Estate, Due Diligence, Permitting, and other teams to ensure safety standards.

You will lead H&S programs, review risk assessments, and monitor contractor onboarding while collaborating with a global network of H&S professionals to drive risk management and safety

Qualifications

• 6+ years of compliance, audit, or risk management experience.
• 6+ years of health and safety experience in construction or industrial environments, with knowledge of safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and contractor safety management.

Responsibilities

• Deploy H&S programs covering leadership, planning, controls, and performance management.
• Review due diligence risk assessments and ensure adequate H&S implementation.
• Coordinate with DCPD managers to prioritize H&S across all project phases.
• Ensure and monitor General Contractors and AWS deployment vendors meet onboarding requirements in Avetta.
• Conduct site H&S kickoff sessions and review contractor safety management plans.
• Document data in standard reporting tools for leadership teams.
• Manage 3rd‑party/internal H&S resources on DCPD projects.
• Identify improvement opportunities with the DCHS Operational Team.
• Audit projects against process follow‑through and report findings.
