Job summary

Amazon’s Construction Safety Manager role supports AWS Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) health and safety programs across the United States, Canada, and South America, working with Real Estate, Due Diligence, Permitting, Energy, and other teams.

The position involves field-based work at construction projects five days a week, collaboration with external contractors and AWS suppliers, and regular reporting to leadership through weekly and monthly reviews.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of program or project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of health and safety experience in construction or industrial environments with knowledge of safety management systems and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Influence program development and deploy H&S programs across planning and execution.
• Review due diligence risk assessments for H&S aspects.
• Coordinate with DCPD managers to prioritize H&S in all phases.
• Ensure onboarding compliance of GC and deployment vendors in Avetta.
• Lead H&S kickoff sessions and review contractor safety plans.
• Document data in reporting tools for leadership reviews.
• Manage 3rd party/internal H&S resources on DCPD projects.
• Identify regional improvement opportunities with DCHS team.
• Audit projects against processes and analyze trends.
• Conduct regular site visits with H&S resources.
• Host kickoff sessions and annual performance reviews.
