Legacy Engineering, P.C in Fredericksburg, VA seeks an Construction Materials Technician (Entry Level) to join our CMT team. This is a hands-on field role at active construction sites, testing soil and concrete to verify proper construction.

No prior testing experience required; we provide training and industry certifications. You will work outdoors, lift up to 85 pounds, and collaborate with engineers and inspectors while growing your career in civil engineering.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in construction, engineering, or field work.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 85 pounds and stay active.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Previous construction experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials.
• Work alongside contractors, engineers, and inspectors on active construction projects.
• Perform basic field tests using specialized equipment and industry procedures.
• Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports.
• Communicate with project managers and field supervisors regarding testing needs or site conditions.
• Maintain and properly use testing equipment while following safety standards.
