Job summary

Orion Marine Group seeks a seasoned field construction leader to guide project teams on concrete construction sites in Texas. You will plan methods, manage crews, schedule work, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across complex projects.

You will mentor foremen, coordinate with GC and subcontractors, and assist in estimating while maintaining strict cost controls and schedules under varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience on concrete construction projects in progressively responsible supervisory roles.
• Strong plan-reading and interpretation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and communicate with varied stakeholders.
• Understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Leadership, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Understanding of structural and civil plans.
• Time management and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to hold crews accountable for safe work practices and performance.
• Influence and motivate work crews.
• Foresight to avoid potential problems and adapt to weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership for field construction activities.
• Determine construction methods, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment needs.
• Train and develop Foremen and mentor crews.
• Manage day-to-day construction operations through assigned personnel.
• Create and maintain project schedules; forecast risk; identify delays early.
• Coordinate site logistics with GC, subcontractors, and PM.
• Ensure safety program compliance and corrective actions as needed.
• Assist Safety Department with incident investigations.
• Inspect work for drawings, specs, and quality standards.
• Assist Project Manager with cost/schedule forecasts, pay requests, and change orders.
• Execute project closeout, punch list, and turnover.
• Participate in business development/estimating within expertise.
