Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Experienced Construction Inspector for WVDOH projects in North Central West Virginia. The role involves providing inspection services to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and proposals, and performing measurements, calculations, and materials testing as needed.

The successful candidate will document daily progress, prepare as-builts, and travel across the state. Heavy outdoor work, long hours, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in construction management or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Alternative: Associate’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• If no degree, at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Ideal candidates will hold WVDOH certifications and knowledge of WVDOH standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection services for transportation construction projects.
• Ensure work and materials comply with plans and specifications.
• Perform calculations, take measurements, verify weights and volumes.
• Plot cross sections and prepare as-built documents during progress.
• Document inspected work daily and travel across the state.
