Job summary

CTL Engineering is hiring Inspectors for Construction Services to support WVDOH highway projects around the Winchester area. You will play a key role in construction administration, inspection and testing across roadway, bridge and related infrastructure projects, collaborating with agencies and project teams to ensure quality and compliance.

The role involves field testing, reading blueprints, preparing records, and communicating updates to the Project Engineer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering, construction, testing and inspection principles.
• Experience with materials and lab testing is preferred.
• Familiarity with highway construction specifications is a plus.
• ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Tech, NICET II Soils, ICC inspections are preferred certifications.
• Must have a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.
• Read project drawings, specifications, blueprints, and work on a variety of projects.
• Perform administration and inspection services for state, county and local roadway and bridge projects.
• Inspect projects to ensure contractor compliance with plans and proposals.
• Verify quantities and calculations against bid plans.
• Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.
• Provide status updates to the Project Engineer and communicate nonconforming work.
• Conduct quality control testing at project sites for concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and reinforcing steel.
• Assist the Project Engineer or Project Manager as needed.
